Kalahari Ootanga Oil (Tsamma Melon)

Basking under the intense sun of the Kalahari Desert, seeds of water-laden, indigenous watermelons, tsamma melons, intensify in their hydroxyl radical-scavenging anti-oxidant powers. The only source of income for many, these amazing little seeds are grown and harvested by women indigenous to the harsh, barren desert. Women living in straw huts dance with praises each time their seeds are collected, and they receive their only income. The seeds are then driven miles away where they are cold pressed at an oil mill in another part of Namibia before being air shipped to Shea Terra Organics.
