Discover the amazing, rich and creamy properties of a rare shea butter found only in secluded areas of East Africa. This anti-aging wonder cream is rich in age-defying vitamins A & E. Velvety soft, this butter luxuriously caresses delicate facial skin and melts into the body providing healing, anti-aging nourishment. Sustainably collected and naturally extracted, this butter goes through no refining yet its aroma is subtle in comparison to its West African counterpart.
Shea Nilotica Shea Butter is so gentle and pure that it is a must have to protect delicate baby skin. Baby lotions and oils (except all natural ones) contain harsh chemicals, fragrances and dyes. Shea Nilotica Shea Butter is a pure, protective emollient straight from nature. Shea Nilotica Shea Butter keeps babies skin dreamy soft and protects against irritation and chaffing.
Shea Nilotica Shea Butter is produced by the Otuwe Shea Butter Cooperative in Northern Uganda. Many of the women have escaped the hands of their kidnappers from the rebel army. Some were even been kidnapped as young girls. Some have lost many of their family members, including their husbands and children. The Otuwe Shea Butter Cooperative gives these women an opportunity for independence that most women in Africa will never get. By selling their shea butter to Shea Terra Organics the women earn up to eight times what their western counterparts get for their shea butter. The women then use the money to feed, educate and get medical services for their children. Some women have taken on orphaned children after losing their own to the war, and are now able to care for them. Many of the women have bought their own small homes, in cash, built for them by the project.
Shea Nilotica grows in green areas which receive far more rain than the dry savannahs where western shea butter grows. The women care for the shea trees and collect the nuts of the fallen fruits which they winnow and allow to sun dry. The nuts are then sent to the mill where they are crushed into emollient, soft butter. While women in western Africa will spend hours producing small amounts of shea butter, the women of the Otuwe Shea Butter Cooperative have been blessed with a mill to do the work for them, saving them hours of back breaking work while producing a superior quality butter. The women are paid premium for Shea Terra Organics' Shea Nilotica Shea Butter, and the cooperative have set the prices so that the women receive eight times what women in western Africa receive. By purchasing Shea Nilotica Shea Butter you are not only doing a great service for your skin, you are changing the lives of women and their children forever.

Why is shea nilotica superior to other shea butters? Shea nilotica is superior to West African shea butter in some ways and not so much in other ways. The two butters complement each other for premium skin care maintenance. Shea Nilotica is higher in olein than West African shea butter, and thus it is less waxy. Overtime, West African shea butter can build up a waxy film. Alternating the two decreases this effect. Selling and using both butters for many years, we have noticed that Shea Nilotica is not as healing as West African shea butter. However, it is gentler on the face where we recommend it the most. It also is much easier to spread making it more likely that a person will use it on larger areas of the body more often.

Mrs.
Another Shea Terra Organics' product to love. This Shea Butter is everything the description says and more! I don't know why it's different from the other shea butters I've tried, but it is. It's easy to spread and very lightly scented. I really like the way it moisturizes my face. I intend to hand this out at baby showers. I would have loved to have had this during my pregnancies!! Highly recommend.

Nilotik shea butter
Great shea! This shea butter is very different from others I have tried and is creamy and easy to apply. I use it around my eyes and on elbows knees and feet. I live in Florida but if I am going to be indoors with air conditioning I use it lightly all over my face and I simply love it!

Hands down the best shea butter I ever used!!
I've probably tried every kind of shea butter ( organic, raw, yellow, white, whipped) but was never really a fan of it because it was too heavy, weighed my hair down, and not to mention the smell was too strong for me. I know that it's suppose to be great for the skin and hair so I decided to give this one a try on my hair. Boy am I glad that I did!! It's light, creamy, soft, and spreads like butter. It still has the Shea butter scent but it's very light and I'm ok with that. Most importantly, my hair loves it. I used it as the oil in the LOC method and not only did it deal in the moisture but it had my hair really soft. My only con is that it is a bit pricey especially for the amount that you get, but you don't need a lot so it should last a little while. I will repurchase again.

Nilotik Shea Butter
The Nilotik Shea Butter product was creamy, hydrating, lightweight and spreadable the first time I bought it (last fall) and I loved it - my facial skin was very happy and clear. However, the new batch I just bought in March 2015 is more waxy, heavy, not as hydrating, and harder to spread.

Whipped Shea Butter
This is a great shea butter. Other brands feel waxy but not Sheaterra. This butter feels whipped and soft. It spreads into your skin like butter should leaving your skin glowing and soft. Try using it on your legs next time you are wearing a dress, it gives bare legs a healthy glow!

Smooth!!
I have been using this product for over 5 years. I usually mix it with one of the shea butter creams or lotions for a added layer of moisture. Works well and helps with healing scars and scratches. I use it alone on my feet for dry skin and it works well.

Very hydrating
I bought this for my face in the winter, since I now have extra flaky forehead, eyebrows and dry skin on the side of my cheeks. I like the effect the shea butter had on my skin - it is thick and creamy once you warm it up in your hands and it hydrates very well. However it does have a specific dairy-like smell to it that I am a little averse to. I try not to think about it because I like how the shea butter works on my face. And of course, it's great on cuticles. Have not tried on hair.

AMAZING! EXTRAORDINARY! I am beyond happy that I tried this!
I expected a heavy, greasy product, but this really blew me away & exceeded my expectations. This warms & softens up after a few seconds on your fingertips or skin, and just absorbs and spreads so nicely! It provides moisturization to my skin in a way that I have never experienced before and I use good quality skincare products. My skin looks alive again! I will NEVER be without this. SO IMPRESSED!

Easier to rub in than other types of shea
I had been using the Ghana Gold Shea Butter which I really like, however I found it a little hard to rub in. This glides on SO much easier so I prefer the texture. The scent is stronger and I am not crazy about it but it seems to fade quickly. Will definitely purchase again.

Extraordinary product!
Rich, smooth and wonderfully creamy, there is no better Shea butter out there! It melts into my skin and moisturizes like nothing else I've ever tried. After nighttime application, I awaken to a flawless complexion in the morning. My only "complaint" is that I'd also like to see it in an 8 oz. jar. : ) Even though a little goes a long way, I'd love to use it as an all-over body moisturizer, too, and never want to run out!

the BEST!
Literally the best shea butter I've ever used. So light, absorbs right into my skin or hair, and moisturizes perfectly! I'm not the only one who enjoys it either, I had to hide it from my fiance until I got him his own jar!

Love it!
I use this as a face lotion and it does wonders for me. I had problems with a facial wash from here that caused dryness, but using this butter relieves the pain and it isn't greasy. It makes my skin feel amazing. The scent wasn't something I enjoyed at first, but I've grown to like it.

great shea butter for face
This shea butter is very light and particularly suited for delicate skin areas such as the face. This is my first time trying out shea butter and I'm really enjoying it. It's a great alternative to traditional facial creams chock full of questionable formulations- even if they are "all- natural" or "organic". This shea butter has a very mild scent- not at all offensive. I use it for areas affected by eczema and eye cream. My skin stays moisturized longer. The packaging is a cute little glass jar with a sleek metal lid. Looks nice. Great buy. I hope to try a couple more items from Shea Terra Organics.

Shea Nilotica is simply the best, I use it every day right out of the shower so it absorbs into my skin. It gives me a youthful glow and well hydrated skin.

true to its word
True to the product description, this shea butter is not hard, waxy, or strong-smelling like some shea butters. It has a mild, pleasant scent and is creamy and easy to spread. I press a thin layer into my or my son's skin and it does absorb fairly quickly. I also put a thicker layer on my chapped nipples from breastfeeding, and I put a separate container on the changing table to apply thickly as a simple diaper rash balm. No strong fragrances or irritants like so many nipple and diaper products, and no beeswax, which I appreciate being a vegan.
