Lemon verbena tea is a staple in every Moroccan household. The tea calms nerves as Tammie came to find out first hand. While shopping for mint leaves she was sold instead two bags of lemon verbena leaves. She took it home and prepared her very first cup. It tasted very different from the mint she was accustomed to back in the States. Within just a few minutes she felt awkwardly relaxed, calm. She was not sure what to think about but immediately wrote back to those following her travels that Moroccan mint tea tasted totally different from any other mint she had ever tasted. Her friend and host laughed as she explained that what she had was lemon verbena. The experience has made her ever more fond of the essential oil extracted from these leaves. Although uplifting, the oil does have a way of taking off the edge. Due to its very high cost many products rarely contain pure lemon verbena, and it is often tainted with less expensive oils. Tammie is careful to select only the best verbena oil for this luxurious mud wash.
