I remember my first experience with sandalwood. I was in awe. At the time I was a young teenager mesmerized by foreign cultures. I was gifted with an intricately carved fan made from fragrant sandalwood. It was a present from my future husband. He had brought it from his homeland thousands of miles away. The aroma was indescribable. I was amazed that a wood could have such a pleasantly sweet aroma. I have been in love with sandalwood ever since. Over the last thirty years I have collected many pieces of sandalwood relics from book holder to wall hanging. I have also had the blessing of experiencing many sandalwood oils and incense. This Tanzanian Sandalwood Essential Oil is one that I added to my personal collection many years ago. Too costly to put into products, I have bought the oil only for personal use. I am now sharing my beloved Tanzanian Sandalwood Oil with everyone. Sandalwood is a protected tree so only a small amount is allowed to be cut and distilled each year. This makes this intoxicating oil even the more precious. It is so rare and costly that I only use it as perfume on my wrists and neck. Occasionally I use it in a facial oil.
