Not wild about shampoo? You know, the ones that contain hazardous chemicals and are disastrous for fragile biomes? How about a gentle cleansing off the well-trodden path? In remote villages in parts of eastern Africa the women collect a hard to find and precious herb they call chiswita. They dry the leaves and store them for cleansing their hair. Once they add warm water to the leaves a jelly like substance materializes- nature's own shampoo. The jelly is separated from the leaves and massaged into wet hair. This relaxing motion removes oil and debris from hair as it softens the strands. The result is hair that is smooth and shiny. Thanks to the women of eastern Africa we are blessed to have a completely natural, eco-friendly and holistic way to cleanse and appreciate our gift of hair. 
Contains only: 100% pure chiswita leaves (Corchorus olitorius)
Suggested usage: Put 15-20 chiswita leaves into a bowl. Pour 1 ½ cup boiling water into the bowl and allow to sit for 15 minutes. Strain well. Take time to massage gel into wet hair. Rinse well.

Chiswita wash

This exceeded my expectations. I forgot my conditioner while on a trip it only had this chiswita I never wash my hair without conditioner but decided to give using the chiswita wash without conditioner a try. I was very impressed with how easy it was to detangling my hair with just this wash. I have noticed less shedding. I have started to use it on my 84-year-old grandmother‘s hair which is very fragile And I am super pleased with the results , her hair is very soft and healthier. This will now be my go to hair wash especially when I travel because now I don’t have to lug a giant bottle of conditioner with me. The prep required is minor compared to the good results

This is my first time

This is my first time using this product. Love it! The gel from the leaves softens my hair similar to aloe vera gel. After straining I can add the remaining gel with the leaves to a hair mask and blend in so that none of the product goes to waste.

i just used this on

i just used this on my mother, 82 yrs old. She is the perfect canditate for the chiswita wash and condition because it really softened her hair even with gray hair, brought alot of shine and curl patterns to her hair. Overall, wonderful results and the directions were easy to follow.

I like this conditioner so

I like this conditioner so far. I have noticed that it is bringing back my natural curl pattern, similar to when I do a clay hair mask. It softens my hair and makes it more manageable. I usually use about 2 tablespoons to 1 cup of boiling water. Good stuff.

La creme de la creme!!!!

I am 79, I have extremely dried hair...I always had to put oil after shampooing.
This Chiswita Wash and conditioner is the very thing I ever used on my hair. It left my hair manageable with beautiful shine all day...no dryness either. My hair feel clean and supple...incredible...really great.

This did not really gel even though I let it steep for at least 15 minutes and used extra leaves. It seemed to "wash" my hair about the same as water-washing does.

A bust!!

Was surprised when I opened this product that this was crushed leaves. I was expecting whole leaves. Followed directions to add 1 1\2 cups of boiling water to the leaves. I used a couple tablespoons of the leaves since you could not use the specified number, and waited for the product to gel. It NEVER did! After about 15 minutes it looked like water with a few tiny leaves floating. I am very disappointed. I have used SheaTerra products for several years and this was my first issue with a product. Shame on me for not reading the reviews prior to purchasing. Looks like money down the drain along with the non-gel results.

Disappointed

The package contents were crushed/ground leaves and the directions state to add 15 to 20 leaves till 1.5 cups of boiled water and let sit for 15 mins. Sadly I have not been able to use and am waiting for a response From Sheaterra or will request a refund.

This product does not due what it says.

I followed the instructions exactly as given. I added a one and a half (1 1/2) cup of boiling water to approximately 15 to 20 leaves; it never jellied as the instructions stated.

So disappointed in this product :disappointed: :confused:.
